Beer in the bathroom? Yes please!

Beer in the bathroom? Yes please!

No, I'm not talking about drinking beer in the bathroom.  (Though let's be honest, we've all done it.)  What I am talking about is the new tile in the bathroom!  It is from a company based in San Diego called Oceanside Glasstile.  The motto for their handmade glass tile is "from curbside to oceanside."  This is because the tile is made with recycled glass bottles collected from curbside recycling programs - over 2 million pounds of glass per year.  They use any clear glass, but mainly a lot of Corona bottles, so cheers to that Southern California beer drinkers!  The different styles and colors of tile have varying amounts of post-consumer recycled content.  (Post-consumer means materials that have already been used by people and then put into the recycling stream.)  We chose 2 colors for our tile - Moonstone with 50% recycled content and Tide with 97% recycled content.

I have been hesitating to take photos of the finished renovation because while it is mostly done, it's not quite exactly how we'd like it yet.  Still little details to finish.  But today I decided to heck with that!  (after I finished the Corona needed for this pic) This blog is not about perfection.  It's about our real life renovation and real life is not always picture perfect.  So here is a pic of the nearly finished bathroom with the gorgeous tile as the main event!

More pics of the rest of the renovation to come...

As reference, here was my inspiration pic!
